Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
By the winds sent forth in swift succession, 1 And those raging swiftly; 2 Which scatter clouds to their destined places, 3 And those that distinguish distinctly, 4 Then I swear by the angels who bring down the revelation, 5 to serve as an excuse or a warning. 6 Indeed, what you are promised is to occur. 7 Thus, [it will come to pass] when the stars are effaced, 8 when heaven shall be split 9 And when the mountains are blown away 10 and when the Messengers' time is set 11 for what Day has this been appointed? 12 For the Day of Judgement. 13 And what will make you comprehend what the day of decision is? 14 Ruin is for the deniers on that day! 15 Did We not destroy the ancients? 16 Then did We follow them up with later ones. 17 Thus deal We ever with the guilty. 18 Ah woe, that Day, to the Rejecters of Truth! 19 Did We not create you from a base fluid 20 Then We placed it in a secure resting-place, 21 till a known term decreed? 22 See that We had the power to do so. Great indeed is Our power to do what We will. 23 Ruin is for the deniers on that day! 24 Did We not make the earth a storehouse? 25 for the living and the dead, 26 And made therein lofty mountains, and given you to drink of sweet water? 27 Woe unto the repudiators on that day! 28 Proceed to that (the Day of Judgment) which you have rejected. 29 “Move towards the shadow of the smoke having three branches.” 30 which neither gives shade nor protects one from the flames. 31 it indeed throws up sparks like castles, 32 Seeming like yellow camels. 33 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 34 This is the Day they shall not speak, 35 nor will they be permitted to offer any excuses. 36 Woe on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth 37 that Day of Distinction [between the true and the false, when they will be told]: "We have brought you together with those [sinners] of olden times; 38 If now ye have any wit, outwit Me. 39 Woe on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth! 40
