The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
۞ When the heaven breaks apart. 1 in obedience to the commands of their Lord which are incumbent on them, 2 and when the earth is leveled, 3 And it unburdens itself of all that is in it, and becomes empty. 4 obeying its Sustainer, as in truth it must: 5 O man, you have to strive and go on striving towards your Lord, then will you meet Him. 6 The reckoning of those whose Book of records will be given into their right hands 7 Soon an easy account will be taken from him. 8 And return to his people in happiness. 9 But he who is given his ledger from behind his back 10 he will pray for utter destruction 11 and roast at the Blaze. 12 Indeed, he had [once] been among his people in happiness; 13 Verily, he thought that he would never come back (to Us)! 14 But yes! Indeed, his Lord was ever of him, Seeing. 15 I swear by the twilight; 16 and the night and what it envelops 17 and the moon, as it grows to its fullness: 18 that you will certainly pass through one stage after another. 19 But what is the matter with them that they do not believe, 20 and [that,] when the Qur'an is read unto them, they do not fall down in prostration? ۩ 21 Nay, (on the contrary), those who disbelieve, belie (Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him) and whatever he brought, i.e. this Quran and Islamic Monotheism, etc.). 22 But Allah has full knowledge of what they secrete (in their breasts) 23 So announce to them a painful punishment~ 24 except to those who believe, and do righteous deeds, for theirs is an unfailing recompense. 25
