Nay, by the moon, 32 And the night when on the wane, 33 By the morning when it brighteneth. 34 That (Hell) is surely one of the greater (signs), 35 As a warning unto men, 36 Unto him of you who will advance or hang back. 37 Every soul shall be pledged for what it has earned, 38 Save those who will stand on the right hand. 39 In Gardens they will question 40 concerning the sinners, 41 [And asking them], "What put you into Saqar?" 42 They said, “We never used to offer the prayer.” 43 nor did we feed the destitute. 44 We plunged in with the plungers 45 And we used to deny the Day of Recompense 46 "Until there came to us (the Hour) that is certain." 47 So, the intercession of intercessors will not avail them. 48 Why then do they turn away from the admonition 49 like frightened donkeys 50 Fleeing from a lion? 51 Aye! every one of them desireth that: he should be vouchsafed scrolls expanded. 52 No indeed; the truth is that they have no fear of the Hereafter. 53 Yes indeed, this is an advice. 54 So whosoever will (let him read it), and receive admonition (from it)! 55 And they will not mind unless Allah please. He is worthy to be feared and worthy to forgive. 56
