The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ The Beneficent Allah, 1 Bestowed the Qur'an, 2 He created man, 3 And taught him to express clearly. 4 The sun and the moon move according to a fixed reckoning; 5 and the stars and the trees bow themselves; 6 and heaven -- He raised it up, and set the Balance. 7 That ye should not trespass in respect of the balance. 8 but weigh things equitably and skimp not in the balance. 9 It is He Who has spread out the earth for (His) creatures: 10 There are fruits of all kinds on it, and date-palms with their clusters sheathed, 11 And grain chaffed and other food. 12 Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny? 13 He created man from clay like that of earthenware. 14 And the jinns did He create from a smokeless flame of fire. 15 Which of your Lord's wonders would you deny? 16 He is the Lord of the two easts and the Lord of the two wests. 17 Which of the powers of your Lord will you twain – you men and jinn – then deny? 18 He let forth the two seas that meet together, 19 With an interstice between them which they cannot cross. 20 Then which of the Blessings of your Lord will you both (jinns and men) deny? 21 From them come forth the pearl and the coral. 22 Which of the wonders of your Lord's power will you twain – you men and jinn – then deny? 23 His are the high-sailed vessels in deep ocean like the mountains. 24 Which of your Lord's wonders would you deny? 25
