The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ The Beneficent (God) 1 It is He Who has taught the Qur'an. 2 He hath created man. 3 He taught distinctness. 4 The sun and the moon to a reckoning. 5 And the herbs (or stars) and the trees both prostrate. 6 And the Firmament has He raised high, and He has set up the Balance (of Justice), 7 so that you would maintain justice. 8 Give just weight and do not skimp the scales. 9 And the earth has He spread out for all living beings, 10 Therein is fruit and palms having sheathed clusters, 11 and a variety of corn with both husk and grain. 12 (Jinn and mankind) - which of the favors of your Lord do you deny? 13 He created man from clay like that of earthenware. 14 and He created the jinns from a flame of fire. 15 Which, then, of your Sustainer's powers can you disavow? 16 (He is) the Lord of the two easts (places of sunrise during early summer and early winter) and the Lord of the two wests (places of sunset during early summer and early winter). 17 (Jinn and mankind) - which of the favors of your Lord do you then deny? 18 He has let loosed the two seas (the salt water and the sweet) meeting together. 19 and yet there is a barrier between them which they may not overstep. 20 (Jinn and mankind) - which of the favors of your Lord do you then deny? 21 From both of them emerge pearl and coral. 22 Which, of your Lord's wonders would you deny? 23 His are the lofty ships, that rear aloft on the sea like mountains. 24 Which is it, of the favours of your Lord, that ye deny? 25
