The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
78 verses, revealed in Medina after Thunder (Al-Ra'ad) before The Human (Al-Insan)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ The All-merciful 1 Taught the Qur'an, 2 He created man. 3 and has taught him articulate speech. 4 The sun and the moon run on their fixed courses (exactly) calculated with measured out stages for each (for reckoning, etc.). 5 The plants and trees prostrate before Him. 6 And the skies has He raised high, and has devised [for all things] a measure, 7 Do not transgress the scales. 8 And observe the weight with equity, and make not deficient the balance. 9 He has laid out the earth for His creatures. 10 There exists all kinds of fruits, palm-trees with sheathed blossoms, 11 and a variety of corn with both husk and grain. 12 Which of your Lord's wonders would you deny? 13 He has created man, from dry ringing clay, like the potter"s, 14 whereas the invisible beings He has created out of a confusing flame of fire. 15 How many favours of your Lord will you then deny? 16 [He is] Lord of the two sunrises and Lord of the two sunsets. 17 Which favors of your Lord will you both belie? 18 He has let forth the two seas, they meet together, 19 [yet] between them is a barrier which they may not transgress. 20 Which favors of your Lord will you both belie? 21 Out of them both come out pearl and coral. 22 Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny? 23 Also, His are the ships that run, raised up like mountains upon the sea. 24 O which of your Lord's bounties will you and you deny? 25
