[O Men!] Are you more difficult to create than the heaven which He has built, 27 Raised it high, proportioned it, 28 and covered its night with darkness and brought forth from it its day; 29 And after that, the earth: wide has He spread its expanse, 30 He brought forth from it its water and its pasturage. 31 and has made the mountains firm: 32 As provision for you and your grazing livestock. 33 Then, when the Great Catastrophe comes 34 The day when man will call to mind his (whole) endeavour, 35 And hell will be made visible to all those who can see. 36 then as for him who was insolent 37 And chose the life of the world, 38 hell will be their dwelling. 39 But unto him who shall have stood in fear of his Sustainer's Presence, and held back his inner self from base desires, 40 paradise will truly be the goal! 41 They ask you: "When will the Hour be? When is its time fixed?" 42 But how are you to know? 43 Unto thy Lord belongeth (knowledge of) the term thereof. 44 You are only a warner to him who would fear it. 45 The Day they see it, (it will be) as if they had not tarried (in this world) except an afternoon or a morning. 46

When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
