Yet Aaron had aforetime said to them, 'My people, you have been tempted by this thing, no more; surety your Lord is the All-merciful; therefore follow me, and obey my commandment!' 90 They replied, "We shall not cease to worship it until Moses returns to us." 91 But (Moses) said: "O Aaron, when you saw that they had gone astray, what hindered you 92 From following me? Then have you disobeyed my order?" 93 Aaron answered: "Son of my mother! Do not seize me with my beard, nor by (the hair of) my head. I feared that on returning you might say: 'You sowed discord among the Children of Israel, and did not pay heed to my words.'" 94 (Moses) said: "What then is thy case, O Samiri?" 95 He said: I perceived what they perceive not, so I seized a handful from the footsteps of the messenger, and then threw it in. Thus my soul commended to me. 96 [Moses] said, "Then go. And indeed, it is [decreed] for you in [this] life to say, 'No contact.' And indeed, you have an appointment [in the Hereafter] you will not fail to keep. And look at your 'god' to which you remained devoted. We will surely burn it and blow it into the sea with a blast. 97 Your Ilah (God) is only Allah, the One (La ilaha illa Huwa) (none has the right to be worshipped but He). He has full knowledge of all things. 98 Thus, [O Muhammad], We relate to you from the news of what has preceded. And We have certainly given you from Us the Qur'an. 99 Whosoever turns away from it, upon the Day of Resurrection He shall bear a fardel, 100 They will remain in it forever – what an evil burden it will be for them on the Day of Resurrection! 101 On the day when the trumpet shall be blown, and We will gather the guilty, blue-eyed, on that day 102 In whispers will they speak to each other (saying): "You stayed not longer than ten (days)." 103 We know well what they will say. The most just among them in the matter will declare: 'You have stayed away but one day' 104
