3/4 Hizb 45
< random >
Noah called to Us; and how excellent were the Answerers! 75 We saved him and his people from great distress, 76 and We made his offspring the only survivors. 77 And left for him among the later folk (the salutation): 78 Peace be upon Noah among all the nations. 79 As such We recompense the gooddoers, 80 Surely he was among Our faithful creatures. 81 Afterwards We drowned the others. 82 ۞ Of his party was also Abraham; 83 When he came to his Lord, with a sound heart. (Free from falsehood). 84 and when he said to his father and to his nation: 'What do you worship? 85 Do you want [to bow down before] a lie - [before] deities other than God? 86 what, then, is your opinion of the Lord of the worlds? 87 Then he cast a glance at the stars, 88 Then he said: Surely I am sick (of your worshipping these). 89 All the people turned away from him 90 Then he turned to their aliha (gods) and said: "Will you not eat (of the offering before you)? 91 What ails you, that you speak not?' 92 Then he turned upon them, striking (them) with (his) right hand. 93 [But] then the others came towards him hurriedly [and accused him of his deed]. 94 but he said, "How can you worship things you carve with your own hands, 95 When Allah hath created you and what ye make? 96 They said: Build for him a building and fling him in the red-hotfire. 97 But whereas they sought to do evil unto him, We [frustrated their designs, and thus] brought them low? 98 And he said: "I am going away to my Lord who will show me the way. 99 [And he prayed:] "O my Sustainer! Bestow upon me the gift of [a son who shall be] one of the righteous!" 100 Then We gave him the good tidings of a prudent boy; 101 And, when he (his son) was old enough to walk with him, he said: "O my son! I have seen in a dream that I am slaughtering you (offer you in sacrifice to Allah), so look what you think!" He said: "O my father! Do that which you are commanded, Insha' Allah (if Allah will), you shall find me of As-Sabirin (the patient ones, etc.)." 102 But as soon as the two had surrendered themselves to [what they thought to be] the will of God, and [Abraham] had laid him down on his face, 103 We cried unto him: O Ibrahim 104 You have fulfilled your dream." Thus do We reward the good. 105 It was certainly an open trial. 106 And We ransomed him with a tremendous sacrifice, 107 And We left for him [favorable mention] among later generations: 108 "Peace be upon Abraham!" 109 Thus, do We reward the righteous ones. 110 truly, he was one of Our faithful servants. 111 Then, We gave him the glad tidings of Isaac, a Prophet, one of the righteous, 112 And We blessed him and Isaac. And of their seed are some who do good, and some who plainly wrong themselves. 113
