The News (Al-Naba')
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ Concerning what are they disputing? 1 Is it about the awesome tiding 2 Regarding which they hold different views. 3 By no means! anon they shall know. 4 Verily, verily they shall soon (come to) know! 5 Have We not made the earth as a wide expanse, 6 And the mountains as pegs? 7 And We have created you in pairs. 8 and We appointed your sleep for a rest; 9 And have appointed the night as a cloak, 10 and made the day to seek livelihood, 11 And constructed above you seven strong [heavens] 12 And have appointed a dazzling lamp, 13 And We send down from the clouds water pouring forth abundantly, 14 That We may bring forth thereby corn and herbs, 15 and luxuriant gardens. 16 Indeed, the Day of Judgement is an appointed time - 17 The day when the Trumpet will be blown – you will therefore come forth in multitudes. 18 The heavens will be opened wide and turn into so many doors, 19 The mountains put in motion turning into a mirage. 20 [On that Day,] verily, hell will lie in wait [for those who deny the truth] 21 a goal for all who are wont to transgress the bounds of what is right! 22 They will dwell therein for ages. 23 tasting therein neither coolness nor any drink 24 Except boiling water, and dirty wound discharges. 25 Requital corresponding. 26 For indeed they did not look forward to any reckoning, 27 And rejected Our signs as lies. 28 Everything have We recorded in a Book. 29 So taste (the fruit of your deeds). We shall only increase your torment. 30
