Luqmaan (Luqmaan)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
Alif-Lam-Mim. [These letters are one of the miracles of the Quran, and none but Allah (Alone) knows their meanings.] 1 These are verses of the Book of Wisdom 2 A guidance and a mercy for the well-doers: 3 who are constant in prayer and dispense charity: for it is they, they who in their innermost are certain of the life to come! 4 Such have guidance from their Lord. Such are the successful. 5 But there are, among men, those who purchase idle tales, without knowledge (or meaning), to mislead (men) from the Path of Allah and throw ridicule (on the Path): for such there will be a Humiliating Penalty. 6 And when Our signs are recited to such a man he turns away, waxing proud, as though he heard them not, and in his ears were heaviness; so give him good tidings of a painful chastisement. 7 Lo! those who believe and do good works, for them are the gardens of delight, 8 They will abide in them for ever. The promise of God is true; and He is all-mighty and all-wise. 9 He [it is who] has created the skies without any supports that you could see, and has placed firm mountains upon the earth, lest it sway with you, and has caused all manner of living creatures to multiply thereon. And We send down water from the skies, and thus We cause every noble kind [of life] to grow on earth. 10 This is Allah's creation, but show Me what those besides Him have created. Nay, the unjust are in manifest error 11
