Luqmaan (Luqmaan)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
Alif-Lam-Mim. 1 Those are the verses of the Wise Book, 2 And a guidance and grace for those who do good, 3 who are constant in prayer and dispense charity: for it is they, they who in their innermost are certain of the life to come! 4 Such have guidance from their Lord. Such are the successful. 5 And of mankind is he who purchases idle talks (i.e. music, singing, etc.) to mislead (men) from the Path of Allah without knowledge, and takes it (the Path of Allah, the Verses of the Quran) by way of mockery. For such there will be a humiliating torment (in the Hell-fire). 6 When Our verses are recited before them they turn away haughtily as though they did not hear them, as if a deafness had come into their ears. So give them tidings of a shameful punishment. 7 Surely those who believe, and do deeds of righteousness, there awaits them Gardens of Bliss 8 Abiding in them; the promise of Allah; (a) true (promise), and He is the Mighty, the Wise. 9 He created the heavens without pillars that you see and has cast into the earth firmly set mountains, lest it should shift with you, and dispersed therein from every creature. And We sent down rain from the sky and made grow therein [plants] of every noble kind. 10 This is the creation of God. Show me what those whom you consider equal to God have created. In fact, the unjust ones are in plain error. 11
