The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
CONSIDER the heavens and that which comes in the night! 1 And what can make you know what is the night comer? 2 (It is) the Star of piercing brightness;- 3 There is not a soul that does not have a guardian over it. 4 So let man observe from what he was created. 5 He is created from a drop emitted- 6 emanating from between the loins and the ribs. 7 God has all power to resurrect him. 8 On a Day whereon secrets shall be out. 9 [man] will have no power, and no helper. 10 By the heaven which giveth the returning rain, 11 And by oath of the earth which flourishes with it. 12 BEHOLD, this [divine writ] is indeed a word that distinguishes between truth and falsehood, 13 and it is certainly not a jest. 14 They are devising guile, 15 and I am cunningly devising. 16 So grant the unbelievers a respite: let them alone for a while. 17
Allah the Almighty always says the truth.
