The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
When the sun is wrapped up [in darkness] 1 The stars turn dim and scatter, 2 And when the mountains are removed 3 when ten-month pregnant camels are left untended, 4 And when wild animals are herded together. 5 And when the seas rise, 6 when the souls shall be rejoined (with their bodies), 7 and when the girl-child buried alive shall be asked: 8 For what sin she was slain, 9 the records of deeds are made public, 10 And when the sky is torn away, 11 when Hell is set ablaze, 12 and Paradise is brought near, 13 (Then) every soul will know what it hath made ready. 14 I do not need to swear by the orbiting 15 Who move straight and stop. 16 The closing night, 17 and the first breath of morning. 18 That this is indeed the word of an honoured Messenger, 19 The mighty, the honoured in the presence of the Lord of the Throne. 20 obeyed by (all creatures) and faithful to His trust. 21 And (O people) your companion (Muhammad (Peace be upon him)) is not a madman; 22 Surely he beheld Him on the clear horizon. 23 Neither doth he withhold grudgingly a knowledge of the Unseen. 24 Nor is this the word of an outcast devil. 25 When whither go ye? 26 This is certainly the guidance for all (jinn and mankind). 27 for everyone of you who wishes to follow the Straight Way; 28 but you shall not, unless Allah wills, the Lord of all the Worlds. 29
