Hizb 46

Jonah was certainly a Messenger. 139 when he fled like a runaway slave onto a laden ship. 140 And then they cast lots and he was the one who lost, 141 then the whale swallowed him down, and he blameworthy. 142 And were he not one of those who praise. 143 He would have tarried in the belly thereof till the Day when they are raised. 144 ۞ But We cast him, upon the shore, and he was ill, 145 and We caused a gourd tree to grow over him. 146 And We sent him to [his people of] a hundred thousand or more. 147 And they believed, therefor We gave them comfort for a while. 148 Now, ask them, has your Lord daughters, and they sons? 149 Or did We create the angels females while they were witnesses? 150 Now surely it is of their own lie that they say: 151 Allah hath begotten. Allah! verily they tell a lie. 152 Did He (then) choose daughters rather than sons? 153 What is the matter with you, how is it that you judge? 154 Why do you not reflect? 155 Or, is there for you a clear warranty 156 Then produce your scriptures, if you are telling the truth. 157 And they imagine kinship between him and the jinn, whereas the jinn know well that they will be brought before (Him). 158 Hallowed be Allah from that which they ascribe to Him. 159 Except His chosen creatures who do not. 160 Wherefore verily neither ye nor that which ye worship, 161 cannot mislead anyone 162 except him who shall roast in Hell. 163 [The angels say], "There is not among us any except that he has a known position. 164 Verily, we (angels), we stand in rows for the prayers (as you Muslims stand in rows for your prayers); 165 we are they that give glory. 166 And indeed, the disbelievers used to say, 167 Had we a reminder from those of yore, 168 "We would have indeed been the chosen slaves of Allah (true believers of Islamic Monotheism)!" 169 But they disbelieve in it (the Koran), but soon they shall know! 170 And, verily, Our Word has gone forth of old for Our slaves, the Messengers, 171 Most surely they shall be the assisted ones 172 and that Our army will be triumphant. 173 So turn thou away from them for a little while, 174 and see them [for what they are]; and in time they [too] will come to see [what they do not see now]. 175 Do they wish (indeed) to hurry on our Punishment? 176 But when it descends into the open space before them, evil will be the morning for those who were warned (and heeded not)! 177 And leave them for a time. 178 And (then) see, for they too shall see. 179 Glory be to your Lord: the Lord of Glory is far above what they attribute to Him. 180 Peace be with the Messengers (of God). 181 and praise belongs to God, the Lord of all Being. 182
God Almighty has spoken the truth.
End of Surah: The Arrangers (Al-Saaffaat). Sent down in Mecca after Animals (Al-An 'aam) before Luqmaan (Luqmaan)
