The people of Al-Hijr denied Our apostles; 80 And We gave them Our signs, and they remained averse to them. 81 They used to hew dwellings in the mountains to live in security. 82 But they were seized by the mighty blast towards the morning; 83 that they earned did not avail them. 84 We created not the heavens and the earth and all that is between them save with truth, and lo! the Hour is surely coming. So forgive, (O Muhammad), with a gracious forgiveness. 85 verily, thy Sustainer is the all-knowing Creator of all things! 86 And We have bestowed upon thee the Seven Oft-repeated (verses) and the Grand Qur'an. 87 [so] turn, not thine eyes [longingly] towards the worldly benefits which We have granted unto some of those [that deny the truth]. And neither grieve over those [who refuse to heed thee,] but spread the wings of thy tenderness over the believers, 88 And say: "I am a distinct warner," 89 As We have sent down on the dividers, (Quraish pagans or Jews and Christians). 90 (So also on such) as have made Qur'an into shreds (as they please). 91 so by your Lord, We will question them all 92 For all their deeds. 93 So shout that thou art commanded and turn thou away from the idolaters. 94 We suffice thee against the mockers, 95 Who set some other god along with Allah. But they will come to know. 96 We are well aware that you are disheartened by what they say. 97 Glorify and praise your Lord and be with those who prostrate themselves before God. 98 and worship your Lord until what is certain [death] comes to you. 99
