The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ When the heaven is split asunder, 1 And hearkens to its Lord and is dutiful, 2 when the earth is stretched out 3 and casts forth whatever is in it, and becomes utterly void, 4 And has responded to its Lord and was obligated [to do so] - 5 O man, having striven hard towards your Lord, you shall meet Him: 6 And as for him whose record shall be placed in his right hand, 7 he shall surely receive an easy reckoning 8 And will return to his people full of joy. 9 But as for those whose Book of records will be given behind their backs, 10 Soon he will pray for death. 11 They will suffer the heat of hell fire. 12 Verily he was among his people joyous. 13 and surely thought he would never return (to his Lord). 14 Yes indeed, his Lord was ever watching him. 15 I swear by the twilight; 16 And by the night and whatever it gathers in its darkness; 17 and the moon, as it grows to its fullness: 18 [even thus, O men,] are you bound to move; onward from stage to stage. 19 So, what is the matter with them that they do not believe, 20 And when the Qur'an is recited to them do not bow in adoration? ۩ 21 Nay, but the unbelievers are crying lies, 22 and Allah knows very well what they gather. 23 Therefore give them the glad tidings of a painful punishment. 24 except for those who believe and do good deeds. Theirs shall be an unending reward. 25
