Nay! By the moon 32 and by the night when it recedes, 33 And by the dawn when it brightens, 34 Indeed hell is one of the greatest entities. 35 a warning to mortal man 36 To him among you who wishes to go forward or remain behind. 37 Each soul is held in pledge for what it earns, 38 save the People of the Right Hand 39 In Gardens (Paradise) they will ask one another, 40 concerning the sinners, 41 “What drove you to Hell?” 42 They will answer: “We were not among those who observed Prayer, 43 and we did not feed the poor, 44 And we have been wading with the waders. 45 "And we used to belie the Day of Recompense 46 until there came to us the certainty. 47 So the intercession of the intercessors will not benefit them. (The disbelievers will not have any intercessor.) 48 Then what is wrong with them that they turn away from admonition, 49 As though they were frightened asses 50 Fleeing from a hunter, or a lion, or a beast of prey. 51 Nay, everyone of them desires that he should be given pages spread out (coming from Allah with a writing that Islam is the right religion, and Muhammad SAW has come with the truth from Allah the Lord of the heavens and earth, etc.). 52 By no means! Aye, they fear not the Hereafter. 53 Nay, this surely is an admonition: 54 So, whoever wills may benefit from it. 55 And they will not remember except that Allah wills. He is worthy of fear and adequate for [granting] forgiveness. 56
