It is He who sends down water from heaven, which provides drink for you and brings forth trees on which your herds feed. 10 And thereby He brings forth crops and olives, palms and vines, and all the fruits. Surely, in this there is a sign for a nation who think. 11 He has subjected for you the night and the day and the sun and the moon and the stars have also been made subservient by His command. Surely there are Signs in this for those who use their reason. 12 And whatsoever He hath created for you in the earth of divers hues, lo! therein is indeed a portent for people who take heed. 13 And He it is who has made the sea subservient [to His laws,] so that you might eat fresh meat from it, and take from it gems which you may wear. And on that [very sea] one sees ships ploughing through the waves, so that you might [be able to] go forth in quest of some of His bounty, and thus have cause to be grateful [to Him]. 14 And He has cast great mountains in the earth lest it might be convulsed with you, and rivers and roads that you may go aright, 15 And landmarks (too), and by the star they find a way. 16 Is then He Who creates like one that creates not? Will ye not receive admonition? 17 For, were you to count the favours of Allah, you will not be able to count them. Surely Allah is Ever Forgiving, Most Merciful. 18 And Allah knows what you conceal and what you declare. 19 , As for those they call besides God, they cannot create a thing, and have themselves been created. 20 (They are things) dead, lifeless: nor do they know when they will be raised up. 21
