The people of al-Hijr also rejected Our messengers: 80 for We did vouchsafe them Our messages, but they obstinately turned their backs upon them 81 They used to hew out houses from the mountains and lived in security. 82 So the scream overcame them at morning. 83 and that which they had earned did not help them. 84 And We have not created the heaven and the earth and that which is in between them save with a purpose. And verily the Hour is surely coming; so overlook thou with a seemly overlooking, 85 Lo! Thy Lord! He is the All-Wise Creator. 86 We have given thee seven of the oft-repeated, and the mighty Koran. 87 Do not strain your eyes after what We have given certain classes of them to enjoy, and do not grieve for them, and make yourself gentle to the believers. 88 And say thou: verily I! I am a plain warner. 89 Even as We sent down on the dividers 90 who have broken the Koran into parts, 91 Now by thy Lord, We shall surely question them all together 92 For all that they used to do. 93 Therefore proclaim openly (Allah's Message Islamic Monotheism) that which you are commanded, and turn away from Al-Mushrikun (polytheists, idolaters, and disbelievers, etc. - see V. 2:105). 94 We are surely sufficient to deal with those who scoff at you, 95 and believe other things to be equal to God. They will soon know the truth. 96 And well do We know that thy bosom is constricted by the [blasphemous] things that they say: 97 but extol thou thy Sustainer's limitless glory and praise Him, and be of those who prostrate themselves [before Him] in adoration, 98 And serve thy Lord till the Inevitable cometh unto thee. 99
