The News (Al-Naba')
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
۞ Of what do they question one another? 1 (Is it) of the great announcement 2 About which they have been differing? 3 No indeed; soon will they come to know; 4 Nay! Nay! they shall soon know. 5 Have We not spread the earth like a bed, 6 And the high hills bulwarks? 7 Have We not created you in pairs, 8 and We have made your sleep [a symbol of] death 9 made the night as a covering, 10 and the day as time for you to make a living? 11 Have We not made seven strong heavens above you, 12 And placed (therein) a Light of Splendour? 13 and sent down heavy rains from the clouds 14 that We may bring forth with it grain, plants 15 And dense gardens. 16 Surely, the Day of Judgement has an appointed time. 17 the Day when the trumpet [of resurrection] is sounded and you all come forward in multitudes; 18 The heavens will be opened wide and turn into so many doors, 19 and the mountains move, and vaporize. 20 Indeed, Hell has been lying in wait 21 The rebels' abode, 22 They will abide therein for ages, 23 They shall not taste therein cool nor drink 24 except boiling water and pus 25 a meet requital [for their sins]! 26 Surely they feared not the account, 27 But they (impudently) treated Our Signs as false. 28 And everything We have recorded in a book. 29 So taste you (the results of your evil actions); no increase shall We give you, except in torment. 30
