Al-Hummazah

The Backbiter (Al-Hummazah)

9 verses, revealed in Mecca after Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah) before Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)

In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful

Woe to every fault-finding backbiter; 1 Who accumulated wealth and hoarded it, counting. 2 He thinks that his wealth will immortalise him forever. 3 Nay, but [in the life to come such as] he shall indeed be abandoned to crushing torment! 4 Ah, what will convey unto thee what the Consuming One is! 5 The fire of Allah, kindled, 6 The which doth mount (Right) to the Hearts: 7 (And) vaults them over 8 in its long columns of flames. 9

Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.
