The Galaxies (Al-Burooj)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
I CALL TO witness the sky (bespangled) with the signs of the Zodiac, 1 and by the promised Day, 2 And by oath of the day that is a witness and by oath of a day in which the people present themselves. 3 Perish the fellows of the ditch, 4 The people of the fuelled blazing fire. 5 When they sat by it, 6 And they witnessed (all) that they were doing against the Believers. 7 And they ill-treated them for no other reason than that they believed in Allah, Exalted in Power, Worthy of all Praise!- 8 To Him only belongs the kingship of the heavens and the earth; and Allah is a Witness over all things. 9 Those who persecute the believers, men and women, and then have not repented, there awaits them the chastisement of Gehenna, and there awaits them the chastisement of the burning. 10 For those who believe and do righteous deeds, will be Gardens; beneath which rivers flow: That is the great Salvation, (the fulfilment of all desires), 11 Surely the might of your Lord is great. 12 Indeed it is He Who initiates and redoes. 13 And He is the Forgiving, the Loving, 14 Lord of the Throne, the All-glorious, 15 a sovereign doer of whatever He wills. 16 Have you not heard the story of the hosts 17 of the Pharaoh and Thamud? 18 But they who disbelieve are in [persistent] denial, 19 And Allah is after them, has them surrounded. 20 Nay, this is a Glorious Qur'an, 21 Inscribed in a tablet preserved. 22
