The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ When the forthcoming event does occur. 1 There is no denying that it will befall - 2 Degrading (some) and exalting (others); 3 This will happen when the earth is shaken, shaken 4 And the hills are ground to powder 5 so that they become as scattered dust 6 And you become [of] three kinds: 7 The People on the Right: and how fortunate will be the People on the Right! 8 And the companions of the left - what are the companions of the left? 9 And those who surpassed have indeed excelled. 10 those are they brought near (to their Lord) 11 in the Gardens of Delight, 12 A throng of the ancients, 13 but [only] a few of later times. 14 on lavish couches 15 Reclining on them, facing each other. 16 Round about them will (serve) youths of perpetual (freshness), 17 with goblets, and ewers, and cups filled with water from unsullied springs 18 neither causing headaches, nor intoxication; 19 And fruit; that they may choose. 20 and with the flesh of any fowl that they may desire to eat; 21 And [with them will be their] companions pure, most beautiful of eye, 22 like pearls preserved in their shells, 23 All this shall be theirs as a reward for their deeds. 24 They will not hear any useless speech in it, or any sin. 25 All talk will be sound and upright. 26 And those on the right – how (fortunate) are those on the right! 27 Midst lote-trees thornless. 28 And clustered plantains, 29 and continuous shade, 30 And in perpetually flowing water. 31 And fruit in plenty, 32 Whose season is not limited, and their supply will not be cut off, 33 and raised couches 34 Surely We have made them to grow into a (new) growth, 35 having resurrected them as virgins, 36 chastely amorous, 37 For those on the right. 38
