The dwellers in El-Hijr cried lies to the Envoys. 80 And We gave them Our signs, and they remained averse to them. 81 They used to hew out houses from the mountains and lived in security. 82 So the scream overcame them at morning. 83 and that which they had earned did not help them. 84 We created not the heavens and the earth, and all that is between them, save in truth. Surely the Hour is coming; so pardon thou, with a gracious pardoning. 85 Verily, your Lord is the All-Knowing Creator. 86 AND, INDEED, We have bestowed upon thee seven of the oft repeated [verses,] and [have, thus, laid open before thee] this sublime Qur'an: 87 [so] turn, not thine eyes [longingly] towards the worldly benefits which We have granted unto some of those [that deny the truth]. And neither grieve over those [who refuse to heed thee,] but spread the wings of thy tenderness over the believers, 88 And say: "I am indeed he that warneth openly and without ambiguity,"- 89 Like (those) We had sent to those schismatics who slandered their Books 90 who have broken the Koran into parts, 91 So by your Lord, We will surely question them all 92 For all that they used to do. 93 Therefore declare openly what you are bidden and turn aside from the polytheists. 94 verily, We shall suffice thee against all who [now] deride [this message - all] 95 Who set some other god along with Allah. But they will come to know. 96 We certainly know that you feel sad about what they say against you. 97 Therefore proclaim the Purity of your Lord with praise, and be of those who prostrate. 98 Worship your Lord until you achieve the ultimate certainty. 99
