۞ Gather all the wicked together and their comrades, and those they had worshipped 22 instead of God, and lead them all onto the way to the blazing fire, 23 and halt them [there]!" [And then,] behold, they shall be asked, 24 'But what is the matter with you that you cannot help one another?,'" 25 Nay! on that day they shall be submissive. 26 And they will advance toward each other mutually questioning. 27 (The followers will say to their leaders): “You used to come to us from the right hand.” 28 They will say: nay! ye yourselves were not believers. 29 We had no authority over you, in fact, you were a rebellious people. 30 "So now has been proved true, against us, the word of our Lord that we shall indeed (have to) taste (the punishment of our sins). 31 "We led you astray: for truly we were ourselves astray." 32 And verily, on that Day they all will share in their common suffering. 33 Verily, thus shall We deal with all who were lost in sin: 34 Surely they used to behave proudly when it was said to them: There is no god but Allah; 35 And they used to say, “Shall we forsake our Gods upon the sayings of a mad poet?” 36 No, indeed, he has brought the truth, and confirmed the Messengers. 37 Behold, you will indeed taste grievous suffering [in the life to come,] 38 but you shall not be recompensed except for what you were doing. 39 But the sincere (and devoted) Servants of Allah,- 40 will have their determined sustenance 41 Fruits, and they shall be highly honored, 42 In Gardens of peace. 43 On thrones, facing each other. 44 A cup from a gushing spring is brought round for them, 45 White, delicious to the drinkers, 46 but not harmful or intoxicating. 47 With them will be spouses, modest of gaze and beautiful of eye, 48 who are as chaste as sheltered eggs. 49 Then they will turn to one another and question one another. 50 One of them will say, "I had a companion who asked me, 51 who would say: "Are you among the believers (of the resurrection)? 52 after we die and become dust and bones, we shall be brought to judgement?'" 53 He will say, "Would you [care to] look?" 54 Then he will look down and see him in the midst of the Flaming Fire. 55 He will say to his friend in hell, "By God, you almost destroyed me. 56 “And were it not for the munificence of my Lord, I too would have been seized and brought forth (captive)!” 57 Are we not then to die 58 Except for our first death, and we will not be punished?" 59 Most surely this is the mighty achievement. 60 For the like of this then let the workers work. 61 Is this better as an entertainment or the tree of Zaqqum? 62 Surely We have made it to be a trial to the unjust. 63 For it is a tree that springs out of the bottom of Hellfire: 64 Its crop is as it were the heads of devils 65 Truly they will eat thereof and fill their bellies therewith. 66 Then most surely they shall have after it to drink of a mixture prepared in boiling water. 67 And once again: Verily, the blazing fire is their ultimate goal 68 They found their fathers in error, 69 So they in their footsteps are rushing. 70 And verily most of the men of old went astray before them, 71 although, verily, We had sent warners unto them: 72 Then see what was the end of those who were warned (but heeded not). 73 Except the sincere (and devoted) Servants of Allah. 74
