And certainly did the companions of Thamud deny the messengers. 80 for We did vouchsafe them Our messages, but they obstinately turned their backs upon them 81 notwithstanding that they had been wont [to enjoy Our blessings and] to hew out dwellings from the mountains, [wherein they could live] in security 82 So the rumbling overtook them in the morning; 83 And that which they were wont to count as gain availed them not. 84 And We have not created the heaven and the earth and that which is in between them save with a purpose. And verily the Hour is surely coming; so overlook thou with a seemly overlooking, 85 Surely thy Lord, He is the All-creator, the All-knowing. 86 And assuredly We have vouchsafed unto thee seven of the repetitions and the mighty Qur'an. 87 Do not strain your eyes after what We have given certain classes of them to enjoy, and do not grieve for them, and make yourself gentle to the believers. 88 And say: Surely I am the plain warner. 89 As We have sent down on the dividers, (Quraish pagans or Jews and Christians). 90 and also divided the Quran believing in some parts and rejecting others. 91 by your Lord, We shall question them all 92 about what they did. 93 So declare to them what We have enjoined, and turn away from idolaters. 94 We suffice you against those who mock, 95 those who set up another deity alongside Allah. They shall soon come to know. 96 Well know We that thy bosom is oppressed by what they say, 97 But you should glorify your Lord with praises, and be among those who bow in submission; 98 Worship your Lord till the certainty (death) comes to you. 99
