The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ When the heaven is sundered. 1 And has responded to its Lord and was obligated [to do so] 2 And when the earth is flattened out, 3 and throws out of itself all that it contains 4 And hearkens to its Lord and is dutiful, 5 O man! verily thou art toiling toward thy Lord a painful toiling, and art about to meet Him. 6 he who is given his record in his right hand 7 He surely will receive an easy reckoning, 8 and they will return to their people, delighted 9 But as for him whose record shall be given to him behind his back; 10 He surely will invoke destruction 11 And will go into the blazing fire. 12 He used to be happy with his own people; 13 Truly, did he think that he would not have to return (to Us)! 14 Yea! his Lord had ever been beholding him. 15 So by oath of the late evening’s light. 16 And by the night and whatever it gathers in its darkness; 17 or by the moon when it is full, 18 that you will certainly pass through one stage after another. 19 What is the matter with them, that they do not believe 20 Why, when the Quran is recited to them, do they not prostrate themselves? ۩ 21 No, the unbelievers only belie, 22 but God knows best whatever they accumulate in their hearts. 23 So announce to them a painful punishment~ 24 Except those who believed and did good deeds – for them is a reward that will never end. 25
