A large group from the earlier generations. 39 And a multitude of those of later time. 40 As for the people on the left hand, how miserable they will be! 41 [They will be] in scorching fire and scalding water 42 And a shade of black smoke, 43 Which is neither cool nor is for respect. 44 Indeed they were, before that, indulging in affluence, 45 And were stubborn upon the great sin (of disbelief). 46 ever saying, 'What, when we are dead and become dust and bones, shall we indeed be raised up? 47 And so will our fathers?" 48 Proclaim, “Without doubt all – the former and the latter.” 49 Shall most surely be gathered together for the appointed hour of a known day. 50 Then verily ye, O ye erring, denying people. 51 you shall eat (the fruit) of the Tree of Zakkum. 52 and fill your bellies with it, 53 and thereupon you shall drink boiling water, 54 like a thirsty camel". 55 Such will be their entertainment on the Day of Requital! 56 It is We Who created you, so why do you not accept the truth? 57 Did you ever consider the sperm that you emit? 58 did you create it or did We? 59 We have ordained death among you and We are not to be overcome, 60 that We will change you and cause you to grow again in a way you do not know. 61 And you have already known the first creation, so will you not remember? 62 So what is your opinion regarding what you sow? 63 Is it you or We Who make them grow? 64 Did We will, We would make it broken orts, and you would remain bitterly jesting -- 65 “We have been penalised; 66 "Nay, but we are deprived!" 67 Tell Me! The water that you drink. 68 Is it you who cause it to come down from the clouds - or are We the cause of its coming down? 69 Were it Our Will, We could make it salt (and unpalatable): then why do ye not give thanks? 70 Have you ever considered the fire which you kindle? 71 Is it you who made the tree thereof to grow, or are We the Grower? 72 We have made it as a reminder of hell and as a utility for travellers in the jungle. 73 Therefor (O Muhammad), praise the name of thy Lord, the Tremendous. 74
