Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ The indubitable event! 1 and what is the Resurrection Verifier? 2 And what can make you know what is the Inevitable Reality? 3 Thamud and 'Aad denied the Striking Calamity. 4 So regarding the Thamud, they were destroyed by a terrible scream. 5 And the 'Ad, they were destroyed by a furious Wind, exceedingly violent; 6 He forced it upon them with strength, consecutively for seven nights and eight days – so you would see those people overthrown in it, like trunks of date palms fallen down. 7 Can you see any remnant of them now? 8 And Pharaoh, and those before him, and the Cities Overthrown, committed habitual Sin. 9 and they rebelled against the Messenger of their Lord, and He seized them with a surpassing grip. 10 Verily when the water rose to great heights, We bore you upon a floating vessel (i.e. the Ark) 11 That We might make it for you a reminder and [that] a conscious ear would be conscious of it. 12 And when the trumpet shall sound one blast 13 And the earth and the mountains are lifted and leveled with one blow - 14 on that Day the Great Event will come to pass. 15 And the heaven will split asunder – so on that day it will be unstable. 16 and the angels will stand on the sides, with eight of them bearing aloft the Throne of your Lord on that Day. 17 You will then be set before Him, and not one of you will remain unexposed. 18 He who is given his ledger in his right hand, will say: "Here, read my ledger. 19 I was certain I'll be given my account." 20 He is therefore in the desired serenity. 21 in a high Garden, 22 With fruits hanging low within reach, 23 Eat and drink pleasantly for what you did beforehand in the days gone by. 24 But as for him who is given his record in his left hand, he will say: Oh, would that I had not been given my book 25 and neither known this my account! 26 "I wish, would that it had been my end (death)! 27 "Of no profit to me has been my wealth! 28 Vanished has my power from me." 29 (The stern command will say): "Seize ye him, and bind ye him, 30 then cast him in the Fire, 31 Then thrust him into a chain the length of which is seventy cubits. 32 Verily he was wont not to believe in Allah, the Mighty. 33 nor did he feel any urge to feed the needy, 34 therefore he today has not here one loyal friend, 35 neither any food saving foul pus, 36 which only the sinners eat". 37
