Shattering (Al-Infitaar)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
۞ When the sky is split, 1 and when the stars are scattered; 2 When the oceans begin to flow, 3 And the sepulchres are overturned, 4 the soul shall know what it has done, the former and the latter. 5 O man! what hath beguiled thee concerning thy Lord, the Bountiful, 6 Who created you proportionately and fashioned you 7 having put thee together in whatever form He willed [thee to have]? 8 Despite this, you deny the Day of Judgment, 9 And yet, verily, there are ever-watchful forces over you, 10 Generous and recording, 11 Who know what you do. 12 The pious will surely be in heaven, 13 And indeed the sinners are in hell. 14 [a fire] which they shall enter on Judgment Day, 15 to burn therein. 16 And what will make you realize what the day of judgment is? 17 Then, what can make you know what is the Day of Recompense? 18 It is the day when no soul will have power to do the least for a soul, and God's alone will be done. 19
