Hoarding (Al-Takaathur)

8 verses, revealed in Mecca after Bounty (Al-Kawthar) before Charity (Al-Maa'oon)

In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful

The craving for excess wealth kept you people neglectful. 1 until you reach your graves. 2 But you will come to know soon; -- 3 Again, yes certainly, you will soon realise! 4 Nay, would that ye knew (now) with a sure knowledge! 5 you shall surely see Hell; 6 Aye, ye will behold it with sure vision. 7 Then, on that Day, you shall be asked about the delight (you indulged in, in this world)! 8

True are the words of God the Almighty.
