S (Saad)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
Sad. By the Qur'an full of admonition. 1 Nay, but those who disbelieve are in false pride and schism. 2 Many a generation We did destroy before them – thereupon they cried out whereas it is not the time to escape! 3 And they wonder that there has come to them a warner from among themselves. And the disbelievers say, "This is a magician and a liar. 4 "Has he made the gods (all) into one Allah? Truly this is a wonderful thing!" 5 And the Council of them depart, saying 'Go! Be steadfast to your gods; this is a thing to be desired. 6 We have not heard this in the religious community close to our time. This is nothing but a fabrication. 7 "What! has the Message been sent to him - (Of all persons) among us?"... but they are in doubt concerning My (Own) Message! Nay, they have not yet tasted My Punishment! 8 Do they possess the treasures of the mercy of your, (Muhammad's), Lord, the Majestic and Munificent God? 9 Or is it that theirs is the kingdom of the heavens and the earth and what is between them? Then let them ascend by any 10 They are only a small band among the defeated confederate tribes. 11 The people of Noah, Ad and the dominating Pharaoh had rejected Our revelations. 12 and so did Thamud and the people of Lot and the people of Aykah. These were all leagued together. 13 There was none of them but called the apostles liars, so just was My retribution. 14
