Nay, verily: By the Moon, 32 By the night when it withdraweth. 33 And by the dawn when it brightens, 34 Surely, it is one of the gravest things, 35 as a warner to mortals. 36 To whoever wills among you to proceed or stay behind. 37 Every soul is pledged to what it does, 38 Except the people of the right hand, 39 in Gardens they will question 40 About the guilty: 41 "What led you into Hell Fire?" 42 and they shall reply, "We were not among those who prayed; 43 "Nor we used to feed Al-Miskin (the poor); 44 We indulged and persisted in useless disputes, 45 and rejected the Day of Judgment 46 until death approached us". 47 The intercession of their intercessors shall not benefit them. 48 Then what is the matter with them that they turn away from admonition?- 49 as though they were frightened wild asses, 50 fleeing from a lion? 51 Yea, everyone of them claims that he [himself] ought to have been given revelations unfolded! 52 Nay! but they do not fear the hereafter. 53 but this is truly a reminder. 54 So, whoever wills, will remember it. 55 But they [who do not believe in the life to come] will not take it to heart unless God so wills: [for] He is the Fount of all God-consciousness, and the Fount of all forgiveness. 56
