Truly, it is the sending of the Lord of the Worlds. 192 The Trustworthy Spirit has brought it down 193 Upon your heart, for you to convey warning. 194 In a clear Arabic language. 195 And indeed it is mentioned in the earlier Books. 196 Was it not a proof for them that the learned men of Israel knew about this? 197 But [even] had We bestowed it from on high upon any of the non-Arabs, 198 And he had recited it to them [perfectly], they would [still] not have been believers in it. 199 Even so We have caused it to enter into the hearts of the sinners, 200 they shall not believe in it until they see the painful punishment 201 So that it will come upon them suddenly, when they perceive not. 202 they say: "Can we be granted some respite?" 203 Seek haste then they with our torment? 204 Beholdest thou? if We let them enjoy for years. 205 and then the promised punishment fell upon them, 206 none of their luxuries will be able to save them from the torment? 207 And We did not destroy any city except that it had warners 208 For reminder, for We never were oppressors. 209 It was not the satans who brought it down: 210 It is not allowable for them, nor would they be able. 211 Indeed they, from [its] hearing, are removed. 212 So call on no other god but God, lest you are condemned to torment; 213 And warn thou thy clan, the nearest ones. 214 and lower your wing to the believers who follow you. 215 If they do not obey you, tell them: "I am not responsible for what you do." 216 And rely upon (Allah) the Almighty, the Most Merciful. 217 who sees you when you stand up [for prayer], 218 And your movements among those who fall prostrate (along with you to Allah in the five compulsory congregational prayers). 219 Indeed, He is the Hearing, the Knowing. 220 Shall I inform you, (O people!), on whom it is that the evil ones descend? 221 They descend on every sinful, false one. 222 who readily lend ear [to every falsehood,] and most of whom lie to others as well. 223 And as to the poets, those who go astray follow them. 224 Have you not seen that they wander distract in every valley, 225 and how they say that which they do not? 226 Except those who believe and do the right, and remember God a great deal, who retaliate only when they have been wronged. Yet the oppressors will now come to know through what reversals they will be overthrown! 227
