Al-Taareq
The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
By the heaven and the Morning Star 1 And what will make you to know what At-Tariq (night-comer) is? 2 (It is a nightly radiant star). 3 There is no human being but has a protector over him (or her) (i.e. angels incharge of each human being guarding him, writing his good and bad deeds, etc.) 4 Now let man but think from what he is created! 5 He was created from ejaculated water 6 issuing from between the loins [of man] and the pelvic arch [of woman]. 7 Lo! He verily is Able to return him (unto life) 8 On the Day when man's deepest secrets shall be put to the test 9 Then man will have no power or any helper. 10 By oath of the sky from which comes down the rain. 11 And the earth which splits (with the growth of trees and plants), 12 this is indeed a Decisive Word, 13 And no trifle. 14 They are cunningly devising, 15 and so am I: 16 So respite thou the infidels - respite them gently, 17
True are the words of God the Almighty.
