Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
By the winds that scatter the dust, 1 And those that lift and bear away heavy weights; 2 And the ships that glide with ease. 3 And those [angels] apportioning [each] matter, 4 Undoubtedly, the promise you are given is surely true. 5 and the Day of Judgment will inevitably take place. 6 By the heaven with its numerous forms: 7 Most surely you are at variance with each other in what you say, 8 Turned aside therefrom (i.e. from Muhammad SAW and the Quran) is he who is turned aside (by the Decree and Preordainment of Allah). 9 Cursed be the liars, 10 who are dazed in perplexity 11 They ask: when is the Day of Requital coming? 12 It will be the Day when they shall be scourged by the Fire 13 (and be told): “Taste your ordeal! This is what you were seeking to hasten.” 14 Surely those who guard (against evil) shall be in gardens and fountains. 15 They shall receive what their Lord will bestow on them. They have done good works in the past, 16 They were in the habit of sleeping but little by night, 17 And used to seek forgiveness before dawn. 18 And in their wealth and possessions (was remembered) the right of the (needy,) him who asked, and him who (for some reason) was prevented (from asking). 19 For those with sure belief there are signs in the earth, 20 just as [there are signs thereof] within your own selves: can you not, then, see? 21 And in the heaven is your provision, and that which you are promised. 22 By the Lord of the heaven and the earth it is sure, even as it is a fact that ye are speaking. 23
