The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
46 verses, revealed in Mecca after The News (Al-Naba') before Shattering (Al-Infitaar)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By those that pluck out vehemently 1 and those that blow gently, 2 and float [through space] with floating serene, 3 and vie with the others (in carrying out their Lord's behests); 4 and by those who regulate events. 5 On the Day when a violent convulsion will convulse [the world], 6 And there will follow it the next blast. 7 On that Day will [men's] hearts be throbbing, 8 and their eyes shall be humbled. 9 They say: shall we indeed be restored to the first state, 10 “When we have become decayed bones?” 11 They say: “That will then be a return with a great loss!” 12 But only, it will be a single Zajrah [shout (i.e., the second blowing of the Trumpet)]. (See Verse 37:19). 13 And suddenly they will be [alert] upon the earth's surface. 14 Has there reached you the story of Moses? - 15 His Lord called out to him by the sacred valley of Tuwa: 16 "Go to Pharaoh. Indeed, he has transgressed. 17 “Tell him ‘Do you have the inclination to become pure?’ 18 and that I should guide thee to thy Lord, then thou shalt fear?"' 19 And he showed him the tremendous token. 20 But he rejected (the truth) and disobeyed. 21 and hastily turned away, 22 Then he gathered his people and cried aloud, 23 And said, "I am your most exalted lord." 24 So God seized him for the punishment of the Hereafter and this world. 25 surely there is in this a lesson for the God-fearing. 26
