The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
78 verses, revealed in Medina after Thunder (Al-Ra'ad) before The Human (Al-Insan)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ The Beneficent Allah, 1 Bestowed the Qur'an, 2 He created man. 3 and has taught him intelligible speech. 4 The sun and the moon are in a reckoning. 5 and the stars and the trees all prostrate themselves, 6 And Allah has raised the sky; and He has set the balance. 7 Do not transgress the scales. 8 And observe correct measure, weigh with justice, and not cheat the balance. 9 And He appointed the earth for the creatures. 10 Therein is fruit and palms having sheathed clusters, 11 and a variety of corn with both husk and grain. 12 Which, then, of the benefits of your Lord, will ye twain belie? 13 He created man from clay like [that of] pottery. 14 And created jinn from the flame of fire. 15 Which of the wonders of your Lord's power will you twain you men and jinn then deny? 16 Lord of the Two Easts, Lord of the Two Wests, 17 Which then of the bounties of your Lord will you deny? 18 He has set flowing two seas that appear to meet. 19 and yet there is a barrier between them which they may not overstep. 20 How many favours of your Lord will then both of you deny? -- 21 There cometh forth from both of them the pearl and coral-stone. 22 Which, then, of your Sustainer's powers can you disavow? 23 His are the ships with elevated sails upon the sea like mountains. 24 Which of the favours of your Lord will you twain you men and jinn then deny? 25

قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
