Elucidated (Fussilat)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
HA MIM. 1 This is a revelation from the Most Merciful, the Most Compassionate, 2 A Book of which the verses are made plain, an Arabic Quran for a people who know: 3 Giving good news and admonition: yet most of them turn away, and so they hear not. 4 And they say, “Our hearts are covered against the affair you call us to, and there is deafness in our ears, and there is a barrier between us and you – therefore mind your own business, we are minding ours.” 5 Say thou, [O Prophet:] "I am but a mortal like you. It has been revealed to me that your God is the One God: go, then, straight towards Him and seek His forgiveness!" And woe unto those who ascribe divinity to aught beside Him, 6 Those who do not give zakah, and in the Hereafter they are disbelievers. 7 For those who believe and work deeds of righteousness is a reward that will never fail. 8
