Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ Nay, I swear by the Day of Resurrection; 1 And I call the reprehensive soul to witness: 2 Do men think that We shall never be able to assemble their bones? 3 Indeed yes, We are able to shape his fingerstips yet again! 4 None the less man chooses to deny what lies ahead of him, 5 asking [derisively,] "When is that Resurrection Day to be?" 6 When the eye is bewildered, 7 the moon eclipsed. 8 when the sun and moon are gathered together 9 On that day man will cry out, “Where shall I flee?” 10 By no means! there shall be no place of refuge! 11 With your Lord alone will be the retreat that Day. 12 Man will be apprised, on that Day, of what he has done and what he has left undone: 13 Aye! man against himself shall be an enlightenment. 14 even though he offers his excuses. 15 Do not forestall (the revelation before its completion) by acting in haste. 16 Surely on Us (devolves) the collecting of it and the reciting of it. 17 So, when We recite it, follow thou its recitation. 18 Then it is for Us (Allah) to make it clear to you, 19 None except you, O disbelievers – you love what you have, the fleeting one. 20 And neglect the hereafter. 21 Countenances on that Day shall be resplendent, 22 Looking to their Lord. 23 And some faces, that Day, will be Basirah (dark, gloomy, frowning, and sad), 24 certain of facing a great calamity. 25 But, when (the soul) reaches the collar bone 26 and it is said, 'Who is an enchanter?' 27 and he realises that the hour of parting is come, 28 And affliction is combined with affliction; 29 On that Day you will be driven to your Lord. 30
