The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
When the sun is folded up, 1 And when the stars fall down. 2 When the mountains vanish (like a mirage); 3 And when the pregnant she-camels shall be neglected; 4 And when the wild beasts shall be gathered together, 5 when the seas are set boiling, 6 And when the souls shall be joined with their bodies; 7 And when the girl-child who was buried alive is asked. 8 for what sin she was killed, 9 and when the scrolls of (men's) deeds shall be unfolded, 10 And when the sky is torn away, 11 And when the Scorch shall be made to blaze, 12 And when Paradise is brought near, 13 (Then) every soul will know what it had prepared (for itself). 14 I do not need to swear by the orbiting 15 The planets withdrawing into themselves, 16 The closing night, 17 And by oath of the morning when it takes birth. 18 This is indeed the recitation of an honoured Noble Messenger. (Angel Jibreel – peace and blessings be upon him.) 19 Owner of strength, of established dignity with the Lord of the Throne. 20 Obeyed (by the angels), trustworthy there (in the heavens). 21 Your Companion is not mad, 22 And of a truth he saw himself on the clear horizon. 23 Neither doth he withhold grudgingly a knowledge of the Unseen. 24 And the Qur'an is not the word of a devil, expelled [from the heavens]. 25 Where then will you go? 26 That is but an advice to the entire creation! 27 For the one among you who wishes to become upright. 28 but you shall not, unless Allah wills, the Lord of all the Worlds. 29
