Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
۞ I swear by the Day of Resurrection. 1 And I call the reprehensive soul to witness: 2 Does man assume that We will never assemble his bones? 3 Yea! We are able to make complete his very fingertips 4 In fact man wishes to commit evil in front of Him! 5 He asketh: when will the Day of Resurrection be? 6 When the sight is dazed, 7 And the moon is buried in darkness. 8 And the sun and moon are conjoined, 9 people will say, "Is there anywhere to run away?" 10 By no means! No place of safety! 11 With your Lord alone will be the retreat that Day. 12 Man will be informed that Day of what he sent ahead and kept back. 13 Nay! man is evidence against himself, 14 Though he may put forth his excuses (to cover his evil deeds). 15 Do not move your tongue with it to make haste with it, 16 for, behold, it is for Us to gather it [in thy heart,] and to cause it to be read [as it ought to be read]. 17 So, as We recite it, follow its reading. 18 We shall be responsible for its explanation. 19 No indeed; but you love the hasty world, 20 And you have forsaken the Hereafter. 21 Some faces will on that Day be bright with happiness, 22 Looking toward their Lord. 23 Others will be despondent, 24 Fearing that a great disaster is going to befall them. 25 Nay; when a man's soul reaches up to the throat, 26 and when it is asked: "Could any magician save him now?"; 27 And he will conclude that it was (the Time) of Parting; 28 and leg is intertwined with leg, 29 To your Lord then will be the driving. 30
