Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ By the Day of Resurrection, 1 And I swear by the self-reproaching soul. 2 Does man think that We cannot assemble his bones? 3 Surely We are able to reform even his finger-tips. 4 But man desires to persist in his evil ways. 5 He asks, “When will be the Day of Resurrection?” 6 At length, when the sight is dazed, 7 And the moon is eclipsed 8 And the sun and moon will be joined together (by going one into the other or folded up or deprived of their light, etc.) 9 On that Day man will say: "Where (is the refuge) to flee?" 10 No indeed; not a refuge! 11 Unto thy Lord is the recourse that day. 12 On that Day man will be informed of what he sent forward (of his evil or good deeds), and what he left behind (of his good or evil traditions). 13 nay, but man shall against himself be an eye-witness, 14 even though he may veil himself in excuses. 15 O dear Prophet (Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him), do not cause your tongue to move along with the Qur’an in order to learn it faster. 16 It is for Us to collect it and to give you (O Muhammad SAW) the ability to recite it (the Quran), 17 But when We have promulgated it, follow thou its recital (as promulgated): 18 The exposition of its meaning surely rests on Us. 19 Nay, but ye do love the fleeting Now 20 And neglect the Hereafter. 21 Some faces that Day shall be Nadirah (shining and radiant). 22 and will be looking towards their Lord; 23 and some faces will on that Day be gloomy, 24 Expecting that there will be done to them [something] backbreaking. 25 Yes indeed, when the soul will reach up to the throat. 26 and it is said, 'Who is an enchanter?' 27 And he bethinketh that it is the time of parting. 28 when his legs are brought together [when affliction is combined with affliction]; 29 on that Day he will be driven towards your Lord! 30
