Has there come to you information about the honored guests of Ibrahim? 24 When they came in to him, and said, "Salam, (peace be upon you)!" He answered; "Salam, (peace be upon you)," and said: "You are a people unknown to me," 25 Then he turned to his household and brought a fattened calf, 26 He set it before them, saying: 'Will you not eat' 27 Then he conceived a fear of them. They said: fear not. And they gave him the tidings of a youth knowing. 28 Then his wife came forward, crying and beating her brow. She said, "I am surely a barren, old woman." 29 'Such, says your Lord' they replied: 'He is the Wise, the Knower' 30 ۞ Said Ibrahim, “What is your task, O the sent angels?” 31 They said: Surely we are sent to a guilty people, 32 "To bring on, on them, (a shower of) stones of clay (brimstone), 33 which are marked by your Lord for the punishment of those guilty of excesses." 34 Then We brought forth such as were therein of the believers. 35 – and We did not find there any, apart from a single house of Muslims – 36 And We left therein a sign for those who fear the afflictive torment. 37 And also in Moses, when We sent him unto Pharaoh, with a clear authority, 38 But he turned away with his forces and said: A magician or a mad man. 39 We seized him and his army and threw them into the sea. He himself was to be blamed. 40 There is also evidence of the Truth in the story of Ad whom We struck with a violent wind 41 It did not leave aught on which it blew, but it made it like ashes. 42 And in the Thamud (was another Sign): Behold, they were told, "Enjoy (your brief day) for a little while!" 43 But they revolted against the commandment of their Lord, so the rumbling overtook them while they saw. 44 Then they were unable to rise up, nor could they help themselves. 45 [We destroyed] the people of Noah before them. They were certainly a sinful people. 46
