The Hidden Secret (Al-Muddath-thir)
56 verses, revealed in Mecca after Unknown Person (Al-Muzzammil) before The Key (Al-Faatehah)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
O thou wrapped up (in the mantle)! 1 Arise and warn! 2 And your Lord do magnify, 3 cleanse your clothes, 4 and shun uncleanness, 5 do not bestow a favour in the expectation of receiving more in return; 6 be patient unto your Lord. 7 When the Trumpet shall be sounded, 8 Surely that day will be a day of anguish, 9 not of ease, for all who [now] deny the truth! 10 Leave Me with the one I created alone 11 and designated for him ample wealth, 12 And children present [with him] 13 And I adjusted affairs for him adjustably; 14 After all that he desires that I should give more; 15 By no means! Verily he hath been unto Our signs a foe. 16 Soon I shall mount him on Saood, the hill of fire. 17 For lo! he did consider; then he planned - 18 Ruin seize him, how did he hatch a scheme? 19 yea, he destroys himself, the way he meditates! 20 Then he looked, 21 Then he frowned and he scowled; 22 Then he turned back and was arrogant 23 and said: 'This is no more than traced sorcery; 24 'this is nothing but mortal speech.' 25 I will cast him into hell. 26 What could make you conceive what hell-fire is? 27 It leaves naught nor does it spare aught. 28 Burning the skins! 29 Over it are nineteen (guards). 30 And We have not made the keepers of the Fire except angels. And We have not made their number except as a trial for those who disbelieve - that those who were given the Scripture will be convinced and those who have believed will increase in faith and those who were given the Scripture and the believers will not doubt and that those in whose hearts is hypocrisy and the disbelievers will say, "What does Allah intend by this as an example?" Thus does Allah leave astray whom He wills and guides whom He wills. And none knows the soldiers of your Lord except Him. And mention of the Fire is not but a reminder to humanity. 31
