The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
(On the day) when the sun is made to cease shining, 1 and when the stars lose their light, 2 And when the mountains are driven. 3 And when the pregnant she-camels shall be neglected; 4 And when the wild beasts shall be gathered together; 5 And when the seas shall become as blazing Fire or shall overflow; 6 And when souls are united, 7 questions are asked about the baby girls buried alive, 8 For what sin she was killed 9 And when the books are spread, 10 when heaven shall be stripped off; 11 When the Blazing Fire is kindled to fierce heat; 12 And when Paradise shall be brought near, 13 then, each soul shall know what it has produced. 14 I swear by the receding stars. 15 orbiting, disappearing; 16 And by the night when it departeth, 17 by the dawn sighing, 18 That this is in truth the word of an honoured messenger, 19 who is honored in the presence of the Lord of the Throne, 20 there he is obeyed and held trustworthy. 21 Your companion is not mad. 22 he indeed saw the message-bearer on the clear horizon; 23 And he is not avid of the Unseen. 24 Nor is this the word of a stoned satan. 25 When whither go ye? 26 It is nothing but Good Counsel for everyone in the world, 27 (With profit) to whoever among you wills to go straight: 28 And you will not, unless (it be) that Allah wills, the Lord of the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns and all that exists). 29
