Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By the (winds) sent forth in quick succession, 1 which then blow tempestuously 2 And scatter (things) far and wide; 3 And by the Verses (of the Quran) that separate the right from the wrong. 4 And then by those that instil Remembrance into the hearts. 5 To clear or to warn. 6 that which you have been promised shall be fulfilled. 7 Then when the stars become dim; 8 And when the heaven is cleft asunder; 9 and the mountains are blown away, 10 And when the messengers are brought unto their time appointed - 11 for what Day has this been appointed? 12 For the Day of Decision. 13 And what will explain to you what is the Day of sorting out? 14 Woe on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth! 15 Did We not destroy many a nation of the earlier times? 16 We shall then send the latter after them. 17 That is what We shall do to those who are guilty of crime. 18 Woe on that Day to those that give the lie to the Truth! 19 Did We not create you from an insignificant drop of fluid 20 which We then let remain in [the womb's] firm keeping 21 For a known extent. 22 So We decreed. How excellent are We as decreers! 23 On that day, woe would be upon those who have rejected the revelations of God! 24 Did We not make the earth as a gathering place 25 Of the living and the dead? 26 Have We not placed high mountains upon it and filled you with sweet water? 27 Woe that day unto those who cry it lies! 28 “Move towards what you used to deny!” 29 Proceed to a shadow rising in three columns: 30 affording neither shade, nor protection from the flames, 31 Indeed, it throws sparks [as huge] as a fortress, 32 like giant fiery ropes! 33 Woe that Day to the deniers (of the Day of Resurrection)! 34 That will be a Day when they shall not speak (during some part of it), 35 Nor shall they be permitted so that they might excuse themselves. 36 Woe unto the repudiators on that day! 37 Such is the Day of Decision. We will gather you with the ancients. 38 If you now have any conspiracy, carry it out on Me. 39 Woe on that Day to those who reject the truth! 40
