Therefore continue to remind, for by the grace of your Lord, you are not a soothsayer, or a madman. 29 Or say they: a poet for whom we wait some adverse turn of fortune! 30 Say: 'Await! I shall be awaiting with you.' 31 Nay! do their understandings bid them this? Or are they an inordinate people? 32 What! They say, “He has invented the Qur'an”? Rather they do not have faith. 33 Let them then produce a recital like unto it (the Quran) if they are truthful. 34 Have they been created from nothing or are they themselves their own creators? 35 Did they create the heavens and the earth? No! They have no faith. 36 Or are thy Lord's treasuries in their keeping? Or are they the registrars? 37 Or have they any stairway (unto heaven) by means of which they overhear (decrees). Then let their listener produce some warrant manifest! 38 Or, has He daughters, and they sons? 39 Or is it that you (O Muhammad SAW) ask a wage from them (for your preaching of Islamic Monotheism) so that they are burdened with a load of debt? 40 Or [do they think] that the hidden reality [of all that exists] is almost within their grasp, so that [in time] they can write it down? 41 Or seek they to ensnare (the messenger)? But those who disbelieve, they are the ensnared! 42 Or, do they have a god, other than Allah? Exaltations to Allah above that which they associate! 43 And if they were to see a fragment from the sky falling, they would say, "[It is merely] clouds heaped up." 44 Wherefore let them alone, till they meet their Day whereon they shall swoon. 45 The day on which their struggle shall not avail them aught, nor shall they be helped. 46 And indeed, for those who have wronged is a punishment before that, but most of them do not know. 47 And wait thou patiently the judgment of thy Lord; verily thou art before Our eyes; and hallow the praise of thy Lord when thou uprisest. 48 and extol His glory at night, and at the time when the stars retreat. 49
