Then the people of Lot rejected the messengers. 160 When their fellowman Lut said to them, “Do you not fear?” 161 Surely I am a faithful apostle to you; 162 So fear Allah, and obey me. 163 And I ask of you no hire therefor; my hire is but with the Lord of the worlds. 164 What! do you come to the males from among the creatures 165 instead of your wives, whom your Lord has created specially for you? You are a transgressing people." 166 They said: If you desist not, O Lut! you shall surely be of those who are expelled. 167 He said: "I do detest your doings." 168 (And prayed:) "O Lord, save me and my family from what they do." 169 We saved him and all of his family, 170 Except an old woman who lingered behind. 171 Thereafter, We utterly destroyed the rest, 172 And We showered a rain upon them; so what a wretched rain for those who were warned! 173 Indeed in that is a sign, but most of them were not to be believers. 174 And most surely your Lord is the Mighty, the Merciful. 175
